Candle Care

SCENOVIA Signature Care Pillars

1. Controlled First Burn – Achieve full, even melt for optimum aroma fidelity.

2. Precision Wick Management – Cleaner flame, lower particulate output.

3. Conscious Session Cycling – Balanced sensory presence without olfactory fatigue.

4. Responsible End-of-Life – Encourage reuse & minimal waste.

Section 1. Overview

Our candles are crafted with natural waxes and carefully balanced fragrance loads. Proper care maximises fragrance throw, safety, and vessel longevity.

Section 2. First Burn – “Memory”

Wax develops a “memory ring” on initial burn. Allow the melt pool to reach the inner edge of the vessel (approx. 2–3 hours for standard 200–300 g jars). Extinguishing too early can cause tunneling.

Section 3. Wick Care

- Trim wick to 3–5 mm before each burn (cotton).

- For wood wicks: Gently pinch off charred top after cooling; keep height ~3 mm.

- Over‑long wicks cause sooting, “mushrooming,” and uneven heat.

- If flame is too high, extinguish, trim & relight.

Section 4. Burn Session Guidelines

- Standard session: 2–3 hours (not >4 hours).

- Wood wick: Prefer shorter cycles (≤3 hours).

- Allow candle to solidify before relighting (30–90 min).

- Keep ambient room free from strong drafts (doors, AC vents) to avoid uneven melt.

Section 5. Extinguishing

Best: snuffer, or dip wick tip into melt pool then re‑center. Avoid blowing (can splatter wax). Never use water—risk of cracking or flare.

Section 6. Safety Essentials

- Always burn within sight; extinguish when leaving the room.

- Keep 10+ cm clearance from walls or other candles.

- Do not burn near bookshelves, fabrics, or unstable surfaces.

- Keep wax pool free of debris (matches, wick trimmings).

- Do not use if vessel is cracked or chipped.

- Stop use when 10–12 mm wax remains to prevent overheating.

Section 7. Natural Characteristics

Slight frosting (soy), minor surface texture, or color variation does not affect performance.

Section 8. Storage

Store upright, away from heat sources >30°C, direct sun, or dust. Avoid prolonged storage in humid areas (may affect wick priming).

Section 9. Reusing the Vessel

When 10–12 mm remains, extinguish permanently. Let cool, place vessel in warm water bath or freeze briefly then gently remove residual wax. Clean with mild soap. Do not pour large volumes of wax into drains.

Section 10. Pets & Children

Place out of reach; some fragrances may be strong for pets—keep area ventilated.

Section 11. Indoor Air & Ventilation

Intermittent burning (rather than continuous all-day) and moderate ventilation improves air quality. Avoid burning multiple high‑fragrance candles in a confined unventilated space.

WARNING

Burn within sight. Keep away from flammable materials. Keep away from children & pets. Burn on a stable, heat‑resistant surface. Do not move a burning candle. Trim wick to 3–5 mm before each light. Do not burn more than 4 hours at a time. Discontinue use when 10 mm of wax remains.
